This site is simple on purpose. It has no accounts and no ads. It has two forms: one to request a call and one to nominate a business for a free website.
What we collect
- Call requests. When you request a call, we collect your name, phone number, email address, business name, the city and state of your business, and the day and time you pick. We use them only to confirm that call and follow up about it. A notice of your request goes to our private team workspace in Slack. We keep a request for up to 14 months. To have yours deleted, reply to the confirmation email we send you.
- Nominations. If you nominate a business for a free website, we collect the business details you enter (name, kind of work, city and state, how to reach it, why you are nominating it, and any owner name you choose to add) and, if you give them, your own name and email. We store them securely and use them only to follow up on that nomination. We do not use them for marketing texts, and we keep a nomination for up to 14 months. To have yours deleted, reply to any email we send you.
- Basic server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, may record technical details such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site running and secure. When you send a call request or a nomination we also store a one-way scrambled version of your IP address with it, to limit spam. It cannot be turned back into your address.
- Bot check. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Cloudflare may read technical details such as your IP address and browser to do this, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your information.
- We don’t run advertising trackers on this site.
- We don’t set cookies of our own.
How we use what you send
We use your call-request details to schedule and prepare for the call and to follow up about it. A request is not a booking until we confirm it. Nominations are used only to follow up on the nomination, and nothing is filmed or posted about a business without its written release. We won’t text you unless you have agreed to receive texts from Foundation Media.
